Laurel Pullover Kit

Laurel Pullover Kit

“In the 90s my best friend and I were huge fans of the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons, who made fascinating and beautiful collections with references to Punk and Romanticism.
I remember a particular dress with abstract velvet flowers shattered on the smooth fabric. This dress was the inspiration for my Laurel Pullover.

The main yarn is Isager Tweed and the leaf pattern is knitted with Isager Tweed and a strand of Spinni held together. I have let the leaf pattern continue in the ribbings to create the illusion that it is printed on the final pullover.
Laurel Pullover is knitted in one piece, from one sleeve to the other, and the neckline has a wedge on each side , which gives the pullover a great fit.“ Helga Isager

CONSTRUCTION
The sweater is worked sideways back and forth from the right cuff to the left cuff in one piece. The sides and sleeve seams are sewn together at the end.
The leaf pattern is created by working 1 strand of Isager Spinni held together with the main colour Isager Tweed as directed in the charts. The leaf pattern is placed at the bottom of the right sleeve, on the right shoulder, at the bottom of the back, at the bottom of the front and at the top of the left sleeve.
The design has rib edges with an Italian cast on or bind off and a boat neck with a rib edge.
